About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for multiple Labourers to join our technician team on a permanent, full-time basis in Ottawa, Ontario. Our technicians are responsible for completing a variety of projects and tasks based on training and experience and work in settings such as healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and government facilities (Parliament Hill, City of Ottawa, and Ottawa Housing). 30% of what we do is emergency response, and the other 70% is small contracts in those same locations. Most of our work is performed indoors.
As part of our technician team, your responsibilities may include:
- Installing drywall
- Painting and mudding
- Framing
- Plastering
- Installing laminate
- Carpentry and cabinet making
- Installing flooring
- Completing other repairs and renovations
- Operating tools and equipment
- Inspecting product throughout the process
- Specialized demolition of building components
More About You
In order to qualify for this role, you will need at least 3 years of experience working in one of the following areas: painting, mudding, flooring, drywall, carpentry, cabinetry, or framing. Previous experience in other related fields may also be considered. You must also be able to support our On-Call service: once every 5 weeks, you will be on call to respond to building emergencies, such as a flood in a hospital, or to board up a window at a school as examples. A valid driver's license is also required (non-negotiable).
We are looking for reliable individuals who are hardworking, motivated, and eager to learn. You must have effective teamwork and communication skills, and be detail-oriented to ensure all work meets our quality standards.
Please note a Criminal Records Check clearance, including a vulnerable sector check, will be required. For the safety and well-being of our employees and clients, we also require Covid-19 vaccination, unless medically exempt.
